"I always suggest that writers start with an event and build up the world and any important information from there; it will keep the reader interested and engaged with your story."
I really liked this because it highlights one of the strongest principles of storytelling: letting the world unfold naturally instead of overwhelming the reader with exposition. Rather than beginning with long explanations about history or lore, you emphasize that stories should first give readers a reason to care. Once they're emotionally invested, they'll naturally want to learn more about the world. It's practical advice that's easy for writers to apply, and it shows a clear understanding of how pacing and curiosity work together to keep readers engaged. I also appreciated that you explained why this approach is effective instead of simply stating it as a rule, which made the analysis feel thoughtful and convincing.
I think sometimes I worry about what elements I add into my stories from cultures that are not my own. Sometimes it's hard to know where the line is between appreciation and appropriation. My own culture doesn't tend to lend itself very well to imaginative settings.
Here is when research comes in handy. You can always research other cultures and add them to your story. However, you cab also alter anything you don't like; it is a fictional world after all. ☺️
Such a brilliant review essay! Your critique regarding the handling of Ester's trauma was incredibly fair and constructive it's so true that when a sensitive theme is introduced, a lack of deep exploration can leave a character feeling a bit unconvincing. I also really liked how you highlighted the use of "centered stars" for seamlessly integrating flashbacks instead of using clunky epilogues. Excellent work! 🌟📖
I figured you would 😃 It is very nice to have different elements from other cultures and languages. I added so many Russian words and names in my novella.
Wow, that was incredible, thanks. It gives me a whole new perspective creating alien races for my book series. Taking cues from actual earth cultures to build their personas.

I add a lot of Arabic elements to my writing, including names and words. I just love deserts in general.
